Having a website is crucial for any community development initiative. There are 10 top pieces of information that your website should share with the consumers of your website. They are:

  • The name of your community development initiative and any logo or slogan you may have for your initiative.
  • Your physical location and mailing address (e.g.: Suite 500, 123 Street, Anywhere, Manitoba).
  • The phone number and/or fax number that you can be reached at.
  • A contact person should be listed so that when people endeavour to contact you, they already feel like they know you because they know your name.
  • The email address that your initiative can be contacted through.
  • The mission, vision and values of the community development initiative.
  • A list of programs and services that you provide.
  • List the boundaries that the CD initiative covers, or even better, include a map.
  • Including a picture of the Community Champion or the Leader of the initiative puts a face on the initiative and provides a visual presence in the community it serves.
  • A list of funders and partners should be listed. This provides credibility to the initiative and also provides funders and partners with promotion of how they are active in the community.
  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • Google Bookmarks
  • LinkedIn
  • Google Gmail
  • Share/Bookmark
